This hands-on OWL Training brings Second Language Acquisition research to life through practical strategies you can take directly into your classroom. Whether you are newer to OWL or have been using the methodology for years, the experience is designed to meet you where you are while helping you continue to grow your practice.

Together, we’ll explore how to create classrooms where community, proficiency, engagement, and empowerment drive learning—and where students are communicating, connecting, taking risks, and using language with purpose.

What We’ll Explore

During our time together, you’ll experience and apply strategies for:

  • Building community & relationships that create the conditions for language acquisition
  • Creating an immersive, highly engaged classroom environment
  • Increasing student-to-student communication and language production across ACTFL proficiency levels
  • Using questioning and prompting strategies to differentiate naturally from novice through advanced
  • Planning with PPATH to create purposeful, responsive lessons
  • Integrating authentic literacy, multiliteracies, and all four skills
  • Exploring new games, activities, and strategies from OWL Bootcamp 2026
  • Collaborating, connecting, and learning alongside other language educators

PLUS: New Tools for Planning & Implementation

Participants will also get hands-on experience with the new Social World (SoWo) app, created to make OWL planning easier while keeping the teacher, students, and real communication at the center.
